Reminder: 8th grade Confirmation Meeting 3/14/18 @ 6:30 pm. (All students must attend this meeting.)
Religion: We read from Acts of the Apostles chapter 2 after students talked to each other in different tongues to better understand the scene at Pentecost. The remainder of the year will focus on Christian symbols as evidenced in their Clare Chapel stained glass window proposals. We'll end with a discussion of Graduating Freshman advice to incoming Freshman.
Spanish 8 We wrapped up with a final quiz, conjugating AR verbs. We ended our Spanish class with a fun fiesta.
Technology:
Students are collaborating on their memory book that they will receive at graduation. We are also collaborating on the final 8th grade slideshow that will be shown at graduation. Thanks for sending in all the pictures!
Algebra: We are engaged in our unit on factoring. The students are doing an amazing job. Our test over this unit is scheduled for May 14th.
Language Arts: As we finish the school year, we will fine tune our reading comprehension and writing skills using the Scope Magazine articles. These informational texts will help students focus on determining central ideas, supporting details and defending their stance. Argument essay over Social Media's responsibility for dangerous teen stunts is due next week.
History
We are finishing up the year with the Civil War!
Science: We finished strong with a cool lab where we used our knowledge of forces to create a ramp system that would result in the slowest time.
